Minnow Park

Some of this work can only happen
in a room with other people.

There’s a verse in Scripture that I’ve come to experience again and again in these spaces: where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am with them. When we are gathered together with like-minded intention something gets woven amongst us. And it helps us do this work better than if we did it alone.

I hold these spaces all around the world, but most in New York City where I live, as well as intimate rooms online.

These spaces are open to anyone who wants to spend time with what’s underneath the day-to-day, in community with others who want to do the same.

What’s open now

Be

A contemplative hour I hold Friday mornings at 8AM EST. We settle into the present moment without needing to fix it or explain it or rush past it, and to meet the God who is already here with us, who has been here the whole time, holding us in unconditional love. You can sign up here.

Writing Circle

We meet every Tuesday at 9AM EST. We check in with what we want to write about, settle in a grounding meditation and then write together for an hour.

My lineage and practice

The spaces I hold, even though they are different in setting and intention, are all contemplative. They all start from an embodied place of presence and centeredness.

They’re not lectures or talks. There’s nothing to take notes on or learn. They’re facilitated experiences to help you be in stillness, or create from an embodied place.

My practice comes from the Christian contemplative tradition, but I am not trying to convert you or make you come to church. I’ve facilitated these practices at churches and also interfaith and inter-religious rooms for people of different traditions.

Other shapes

These take different shapes depending on the season. Some follow the liturgical calendar, others run all year.

Seasonal series

A weekly hour over five or six weeks, shaped around a season. This spring it was A Deeper Lent: something to read during the week, and a gathering at the end of it to sit with it together. For people who want a rhythm, not a one-off.

Retreats and residencies

This August I’m facilitating meditation at MonX, a six-day residency in the Catskills for builders and creatives who need to quiet the noise of everyday life.
